Tim Boeve, President

Tim Boeve has worked within the Sonoma Valley nonprofit world for many years, as Executive Director of the Willmar Center for Bereaved Children and Executive Director of the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation. Prior to that time he was the pastor of the Sonoma Valley Community Church for over 17 years. Currently he is employed at Infineon Raceway where he works as the Volunteer Coordinator, and Track Minister. Tim is a member of the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley, a mentor, and a founding member of the Teacher Support Network in Sonoma and Transition Sonoma Valley. He has one daughter and enjoys yoga, outdoor activities, and everything else that living in the Sonoma Valley has to offer.

Ana Solar Byerly

Ana was born in San Francisco and raised as a first generation Latina in the Mission District. Her family instilled a deep sense of pride in both her Mexican and American heritage. She has shared her joy of being bilingual and bi-cultural with the business community, educators, young people and their parents for over 30 years. Ana has been a professional trainer and consultant throughout the Bay Area and has been awarded the Sonoma County Woman of Color Humanitarian Award, North Coast Bilingual Consortium Honoree and the Napa Valley Peace Table Honoree.

Niels Chew, Chairman of the Board

Niels Chew has resided in Sonoma for thirty eight years and has been active in a long list of local non-profits. He was instrumental in the forming of the Sonoma Mentoring Alliance and Hopsice. He has been on the board of Sonoma Valley Teen Services and the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation. A New Yorker by birth he attended Dartmouth College and Reed College; and then spent a year working on Norwegian Ships seeing the world.

Osias Encarnacion

Osias Encarnacion has been in the Technology industry for over 25 years. He has been employed by Fortune 500 companies to small dot com startups throughout the Bay Area and specializes in Corporate IT leadership and program management. Osias is a techie at heart, having hands on skills in system administration, software development and database management. He lives in Sonoma with his wife, Anastasia and their two teens, Hannah and Ari.

Jean Hopeman, Secretary

Jean Hopeman retired after 34 years in banking and holding positions such as the Senior Vice President and Credit Administrator-Risk Manager at Sonoma Valley Bank. Jean has been an active member for 27 years at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and the St. Andrew Women’s Fellowship. Since 2002 she has been a Master Gardner, teaching water wise planning and habitat and native plants workshops and a member of the Soroptimist International of Sonoma Valley for nearly fourteen years. Jean has been involved with the Valley of the Moon Teen Center for twelve years, and is one of the principle fundraisers and overseers for the construction of the new Teen Center building.

SVTS Program Directors

Rebecca Hermosillo

Rebecca was born and raised in Sonoma., she attended, Sassarini middle school, Altamira and Sonoma Valley High School. Rebecca is in tune to the cultural aspects of Sonoma Valley and the unique needs of the Teens residing in Sonoma. In addition she maintains a close relationship with the parents of the teens; she realizes this connection is vital to ensuring the teen’s successful transition into adulthood. Rebecca was appointed by Valerie Brown to the Methamphetamine Task Force in 2008, working with at risk age groups. In addition she was appointed by Sonoma County Sherriff, Steve Freitas to his Latino Advisory Council in 2010.

Cristin Lawrence

Cristin Lawrence was Born in Denver, Colorado and lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico until moving to Sonoma in 1983. Cristin graduated from Sonoma Valley High in 1989. She received a certificate in Employment Services from the University of San Francisco, her A.A. degree from Santa Rosa Junior College and a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Sonoma State. Cristin began her career in Human Services at age 18 working as a Job Coach and Job Developer for people with Developmental Disabilities. Cristin had various positions in non-profits, including being the Employment Services Specialist for Sonoma Works Welfare to Work program; the Prevention Program Director of El Nido Teen Center; . the Program Director for Operation Youth where she ran a work-training program in the No Name Cafe at Sonoma Valley High before becoming the Administrative Director for Sonoma Valley Teen Services in 2011. She has served on the Citizen’s Action Team for Youth (CATY), The Sonoma County Tobacco Task Force, and the Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking.
